The body of slain civilian Eidul Amin Mir (alias Nazir Ahmed Mir) of Bahrampora Sopore was brought to his house Monday morning at 8:30 AM. Unidentified gunmen Sunday evening shot and injured him at 6:30 PM when he left his home for work. He later succumbed on his way to hospital after he was shifted to Srinagar from Sopore hospital.
Mir, a cellular tower guard by profession, according to his family members left home to check the tower. The tower is installed outside his house.
“Soon after he left the house, we heard a gunshot. Later we came to know it was Eidul shot in head by unknown gunmen outside he house,” slain Nazir’s brother Mashooq Ahmad told The Varmul Post
Mir is survived by 2 daughters and a boy – all minors and his wife besides aged mother. Eidul Amin was shifted to Sopore hospital for immediate treatment but later on shifted to Srinagar for further treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.
“He had a single bullet in head and was immediately brought to Sopore Hospital but was shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment, Dr Sami, BMO Sopore Hospital told The Varmul Post.
