Sopore gunfight: Hizb calls millitants’ killing ‘great loss’

Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen has claimed that two of its commanders have been killed in the gunfight at Amargadh Sopore.

 

Describing the death of two militants as a big loss for the outfit, operational Spokesperson Hizbul Mujhadeen, Burhanuddin identified the duo as Azaharuddin alias Ghazi Umar and Sajad Ahmed alias Babar.

 

“Both were local militants who had been affiliated with the outfit for quite some time. Azaharuddin alias Ghazi Umar was a lecturer by profession who had abdicated the government service and had joined Hizbul Mujhadeen,” the spokesperson said.

 

Earlier, Army claimed to have killed two millitants in a brief gunfight at Amargarh Sopore. The Official spokesperson in a press brief said, “One AK 47, One pistol and war like stores recovered so far from the killed militants”

 

Reportedly, two cops were also injured in the gunfight. The injured cops have been identified as SP operations Baramulla, Shafqat Hussain and Sub Inspector of Police Mohammad Murtaza.
