Sixth Showkat Memorial T20 cricket tourney concludes

The sixth Professor Showkat Ali Memorial T20 cricket tournament, organized by Government Degree College Baramulla concluded at Cricket Stadium Baramulla on Tuesday. The tournament is played every year in the memory of Late Prof. Showkat Ali Mir, a former principal of Government Degree College Baramulla.

 

 

12 teams from various colleges of North Kashmir participated in the cricket tournament. In the final, Government Degree College Sumbal defeated Government College Sopore, while as GDC Baramulla was earlier defeated by GDC Sopore in semi final match.  The cricket tournament organized by GDC Baramulla started on 3rd November and concluded today on 28th November,2017.

On the occasion, Principal GDC Sumbal Prof. Nasreen Malik, was the Chief Guest on the final match of the cricket championship. Family of Late Professor Showkat Ali Mir was also present on the occasion. Mir Afaq Showkat  son of late Showkat Ali, Dr. Ruqayya daughter of Late Showkat Ali and other family member were also present.

 

 

The closing ceremony was held at GDC Baramulla in which Principal GDC Baramulla Dr. Fazal Raheem Beigh distributed awards to both the winners and runner ups of the tournament.

Assistant physical director Arshad Salam, Covenver College Sports Committee Dr. Satvant Singh and Dr. Kaiser Ali Member Secretary College Sports Committee were also present on the award ceremony and were main power behind organizing the tournament.
