Road safety Week seminar cum rally was organised by Girls Higher secondary school Baramulla on Monday. Additional deputy commissioner Baramulla Farooq ahmed Baba was the chief guest on the occasion. The rally was flagged off by Senior superintendent of police Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain.
Speakers in the seminar highlighted the traffic issues and the causes of traffic mess. The theme of the seminar was ‘it’s better to lose a minute in life than to lose a life in a minute’.
Chief educational Officer Baramulla and students also spoke in the program.
The programme was aimed at educating people about various road safety measures and to create awareness about traffic rules and regulation among masses.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Baramulla emphasized upon the need for adopting necessary road safety measures for averting avoidable road accidents and loss of precious human life. He also appealed people particularly driver fraternity to avoid rash and aggressive driving, and follow the traffic rules strictly.
Meanwhile ADC hailed the school authority for organizing such programmes and stressed upon the concerned authorities for implementing the traffic rules and regulations in letter and spirit so that the safety of life and property is ensured.
