Sopore Police on Monday late evening issued a statement regarding the Warpora Sopore accident in which two militants were reportedly killed.

About 11:15 am Police Post Warpora received an information to the effect that one dead body and an injured person in unconscious state were lying at the interior link road warpora and a Motor Bicycle was also lying alongside the dead body who reportedly had met with an accident.
On receiving of this information Police party of Police post Warpora Sopore rushed to the spot and took the dead body into the police custody and the injured person has been shifted to SDH Sopore where from he has been referred to SMHS Srinagar for further treatment where he succumbed to injuries who later on has been identified as Owais Bashir Mir S/o Bashir Ahmad Mir R/o Brath Kalan Sopore age about 27 years, who was affiliated with LeT out fit.
The dead body after completion of all departmental formalities has been handed over to his heirs for last rites. While as the identity of another dead body is being ascertained.
In this regard case FIR No. 30/2018 U/S 304-A/RPC stands registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
