General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Teacher’s Forum Mohammad Rafique Rather Thursday impressed upon civil society and parents to play their role for the betterment of education system in J&K. He was speaking on a farewell function organised by High School Sultanpora Pattan in honour of headmaster Nissar Gulzar on his superannuation.
“Education is the only tool which gives empowerment to the communities irrespective of caste, colour and creed. In present era of science and technology, traditional methods and approaches are completely outdated , so teachers also need to update and benefit themselves from latest information technology to prepare students for upcoming national and global challenges,” Rafiq said.
He said that teachers need to inculcate scientific temper amongst students so that they are attracted towards scientific research which in turn will benefit not only state but whole mankind.
Describing Nissar Gulzar an old long friend in JKTF who has contributed a lot in strengthening the organisation at grass root level Rafiq Rather said that Gulzar is one among those who has impressed him during his service career. Nissar Gulzar is also well known poet and writer of national repute associated with Sahitya Academy.
Several colourful cultural programmes were presented by the students of the school on this occasion.
