Narbal-Uri 4 lane road soon, Greater Baramulla work in progress: Bukhari

In connection with the Independence day celebration, a grand function was today organized at District Police Headquarters Baramulla. Minister for education, Syed Altaf Bukhari was the chief guest on the occasion. DDC Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash along with MLA Baramulla Javeed Hassan Beigh, MLC G N Monga, SE’s of PHE, PDD, R&B, SSP and all district and sectoral officers besides some general public attended the function.

The minister hoisted the tricolor, inspected the Parade and took salute to the march past presented by the contingents of district police, CRPF, SSB, Fire and Emergency Services and the School children.

In his speech, minister impressed upon the fact that State Government stands committed in upholding the special status granted to the State by the Constitution of India.

The Minister also highlighted the fact that district Baramulla has shown tremendous growth in Education, Health and Rural development sectors and various schemes like PMGSY, SBM and NHM have been successfully implemented in the district.

The Minister said that connectivity and Power facilities have been ensured in all the habitations of the district. He said four lane road from Narbal to Uri will be completed very soon for the people and work on greater Baramulla is in progress .

Various cultural programmes were presented by the various schools, besides information and police  departments.

Prize distribution ceremony was held at the end wherein awards were presented to the Schools for their best performances in march past and cultural programmes, press and media persons for their courage and contribution. Officers were also presented awards for their performance in different fields by the chief guest.

Meanwhile, functions in connection with the Independence  day celebration were also held across the district at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil levels where the concerned SDMs and Tehsildars hoisted the national flag.
