Kupwara Police Organises Drug De-Addiction Workshop

District Police Kupwara in collaboration with Drug De-addiction Centre PCR Srinagar and Education Department Tuesday organised a drug de-addiction workshop at District Police Headquarters Kupwara which saw a huge participation of people.

 

Speaking on this occasion SSP Kupwara Shamsheer Hussain said that J&K Police is committed to eradicate the drug menace from the society and urged the teacher fraternity to play a pro-active role in eradicating the drug menace.

 

“Teacher community can contribute a lot as they are in close contact with the younger lot who are the real victim of such abuses,” SSP Kupwara said in his inaugural speech.

 

SSP also eulogized the role of drug de-addiction centre headed by Dr. Muzaffar and his team for their helping hundreds of drug addicts of the valley.

 

Dr. Muzaffar Khan also delivered detailed presentation on the various aspects of drug de-addiction and facilities available at drug de-addiction centre Srinagar established by J&K Police.

 

Meanwhile during last few months the special team of District Police Kupwara has seized 5.52 kilograms of Charas, 1.5 kilograms of Heroine, 2.12 kilograms of Brown Sugar, 500 bottles of Codeine and huge quantity of the psychotropic substances.
