Sopore police Wednesday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case within seven hours and arrested the accused involved in the crime.
A police official told The Varmul Post, that Wednesday morning Sopore police received a written complaint from one person (name with held) that his minor daughter has been missing since last night.
Senior superintendent of police Harmeet Singh Mehta formed a special team headed by SDPO Sopore Mashkoor Ahmed Zargar which raided various suspected locations and also established various check point, police said.
“Massive searches were launched in and out side the district in order to trace the missing girl and after strenuous efforts the accused person was arrested and the kidnapped girl was recovered,” the police official said.
The accused involved in the crime was identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a resident of Doabgah Sopore.
A case FIR No. 18/2018 under section 363 RPC has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
