Custodian LOC Trade Centre Uri arrested in a bribery case

Vigilance Organisation Kashmir Wednesday evening arrested custodian “Trade Facilitation Centre” Salamabad Uri in a bribe taking case.

 
Farooq Ahmad Shah, Custodian at the cross LoC trade centre was caught red handed taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand in his office chamber at the trade centre.

 
Vigilance Organisation in a statement issued to press said “a written complaint was received by VOK, alleging therein that Custodian TFC Salamabad namely Farooq Ahmad Shah demanded Rs. 50,000/- for releasing his six load carriers to cross LOC to Muzaffarabad (POK) which were detained by him for the last six days due to some file clearance, though the complainant had submitted the related documents to the concerned officer, but despite of that he has threatened to cancel his registration if he fails to pay the bribe of Rs. 50,000/.”

 
A team was constituted to arrest the accused red handed after the Vigilance Organisation received a complaint against the accused officer.

 
“On the receipt of the complaint, case FIR No.01/2017, P/S VOK, U/s 5(2) 4(A) P.C Act 2006, P/S VOK stands registered and trap team was constituted which laid a successful trap and arrested the accused namely Farooq Ahmad Shah red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 50000/- in presence of a independent witnesses”, the statement said.

 
Farooq Ahmad Shah has served ACR and Manager DIC in District Baramulla. Farooq Ahmad Shah is an officer in the J&K civil administration who has was inducted in the Kashmir administrative services.

 
Shah has been arrested and the investigation of the case has been taken up.
