Comtech Institute of Technology Baramulla, Monday held a grand function at Dak Bungalow Baramulla where in free educational kits were distributed among the below poverty line and school dropouts enrolled with the institute.
Hundreds of students enrolled with the various branches of Comtech, district administration, other dignitaries and members of civil society were also present at the occasion.
Director North Campus University Of Kashmir Dr. Irshad Ahmad Wani was the Chief Guest and Joint Director Planning Baramulla A.G. Malik as Guest Of Honour.
While addressing the audience Dr. Irshad Wani talked about dignity of labour, sticking to one’s ancestral occupations and gaining skill based knowledge.
“The reason behind our decline is that we don’t value and respect all jobs equally. In our society, government job is considered superior than other occupations, which is a wrong trend. We have 5 lac unemployed youth but we have 6 lac youth from outside Kashmir who earn here and live a happy life because they respect their profession. They work in saloons, boutiques, as technicians, masons, carpenters. They respect their occupation and we don’t ,” Dr. Irshad said.

Deputy Labour Commissioner & Head Of Education Wing Comtech Group, Nazir Ahmad Mehdi, renowned writer and poet Nazar Boniyari, author and renowned personality of Baramulla Khaliq Parvaiz, District Information Officer Aijaz Ahmad Malik, President Greater Baramulla Forum Shamas Maknoo and other dignitaries were also present.
In his keynote address, Sheikh Imtiyaz, CEO Comtech Group said, “Comtech has recently launched an integrated formal education and skill development training programme for minority and weaker sections of the community with no profit, no gain.
