Almost half a dozen villages of tehsil Boniyar in Baramulla district are still disconnected from the tehsil and district headquarters from past many days due to snow on roads as the roads leading to these villages are yet to be cleared by the authorities.

The residents of these villages allege that responsible department for clearing snow from these roads was showing callous approach in clearing the snow from these areas. Residents of Khardoba, Baidan, Salasan, Banali, Maidanan, Chotali, Gagarhil and Dudran claim that roads connecting these villages to tehsil and district headquarters are still under snow and none from the administration visited the area for snow clearance from last ten days.

“Patients, students and office goers are worst hit due to apathetic role of authorities who are in no mood to  clear the snow from the roads. The officials from R&B department are paying a deaf ear to our problems ,” said Abdul Rashid Ganaie, a resident of Dudran village.

Meanwhile MET department issued a fresh advisory about the western disturbances which may affect Kashmir valley as more snow and rain is expected in next 24 hours, which may create more problems for the residents of these villages.
