The NSS Unit 3rd Girls Wing of the Government Degree College, Baramulla in collaboration with District Hospital, Baramulla conducted an “Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive” about Hygiene and Sanitation here in District Hospital, Baramulla.
Thirty NSS volunteers accompanied by Professor Nuzhat Rehman, NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Kainat, Head Department of Philosophy and Muhammad Yousuf, Medical Assistant of the college participated in the Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive.
Staff members of the District Hospital Baramulla also joined the drive. The drive started from the Emergency Block to OPD Block wherein volunteers got divided into two groups and cleaned the Gynaecology and Surgery wards of 1st and 2nd floor of the Hospital.
The volunteers Rahi Tariq and Syed Faiqa Bukhari made the patients, attendants, and the Hospital staff aware about the importance of hygiene and sanitation in daily life.
Dr. Syed Masood, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Baramulla while addressing the volunteers informed them about the facilities like CT scan, MRI, Doppler, available at the Hospital.
Dr. Masood encouraged the volunteers and thanked them for the drive and asked them to continue these types of activities for the good and benefit of society. He also thanked the College Administration, Programme Officer, and other staff of the college. The drive concluded at 01:30 pm.
